New multispectral imaging endoscope tested in those at risk of oesophageal cancer

Dr Sarah Bohndiek, Dr Massimiliano di Pietro and Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald from the Early Detection Programme appeared on BBC Look East on Friday 2nd March to mark the start of a new clinical trial in patients with Barrett’s oesophagus. 

The coverage describes a multidisciplinary research project that has developed the novel application of a multispectral imaging camera for use in endoscopy to detect early pre-cancerous changes in the oesophageal lining. This project is funded by Cancer Research UK and Stand Up to Cancer.
