Andy Roddam, CEO at Our Future Health, gave a presentation to members of ACED and the Early Detection Programme, to provide an overview of the 'Concept and Plans' of the UK’s largest ever health research programme. You can watch a recording of the talk and the Q&A below:
Our Future Health aims to be the UK’s largest ever health research programme, recruiting up to five million adults from across the country, to create a giant digital database that researchers can use for the discovery and testing of more effective approaches to prevention, earlier detection and treatment of diseases.
A collaboration between the public, charity and private sectors, Our Future Health is a charity with initial funding from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to develop the programme.
Participants will provide health and lifestyle information, samples of saliva and/or blood, and these, combined with any existing health records, will build a comprehensive picture of health and wellbeing that could be relevant to understanding what changes people's risk of disease.
We invite Early Detection Programme and ACED members to join 'Our Future Health', for a lunchtime seminar to learn more about their ambitious programme, and take part in an open discussion on how their resources could help researchers in the discovery and development of medicines, tests and equipment used to help treat, detect, diagnose and prevent diseases.
